CVE-2022-22773Network attack vector

Administrative access via renderable REST responses

Published May 17, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Reflected XSS in the REST API of affected TIBCO JasperReports Server editions allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts. The REST content-type map labels HTML as text/html and XML-family resources as application/xml, causing browsers to render API responses instead of treating them as product-specific resource types. A low-privileged account and victim interaction are required; an administrator victim grants full administrative access, affecting Server, Community, AWS, and Azure 8.0.1 and earlier, Developer 8.0.0 and earlier, and ActiveMatrix BPM 7.9.2 and earlier.
