CVE-2022-22762Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Site impersonation via undismissed JavaScript dialogs

Published Dec 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

UI spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for Android before 97 allows remote attackers to display deceptive JavaScript dialogs over another site. The Android prompt controller retained only the active dialog reference, so navigation dismissed the last of several queued dialogs while earlier attacker-created alerts or prompts remained visible. A user must load crafted content and retry or restore the tab; the lingering dialog can impersonate the displayed site and solicit input but cannot access that site's page.
