Heap-buffer overflow in Mozilla Firefox before 96, Firefox ESR before 91.5, and Thunderbird before 91.5 allows remote attackers to crash the client. The WebRender blendGaussianBlur path uses filter bounds that are not clamped to the sampler, allowing vector loads beyond the heap buffer during crafted CSS rendering. Opening attacker-controlled web or message content is required, and the demonstrated consequence is a client crash; public evidence does not demonstrate code execution.
