Guest-to-administrator escalation via credential-bearing access token
Published Jan 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Credential exposure in Apache ShardingSphere ElasticJob-UI 3.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to obtain administrator credentials. UserAuthenticationService.getToken() Base64-encodes the entire service object, including configured root and guest credentials, as the Access-Token returned after login. Any guest account can decode the token, recover the administrator credentials, and sign in with full operation rights.
