Video self-preview interruption via concurrent media state error
Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025
Logic error in WebRTC on Apple macOS before 12.4 allows context-dependent attackers to interrupt video self-preview during a call. The concurrent-media state machine mishandles a phone call arriving during an active WebRTC session, leaving the local preview interrupted. Apple has not published the incorrect state transition; exploitation requires an active WebRTC call and the user to answer a phone call.
