CVE-2022-22671

Physical photo disclosure via VoiceOver lock-screen bypass

Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Authentication bypass in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 15.4 allows physically proximate attackers to access photos from the lock screen. The VoiceOver component mishandles authentication state during lock-screen photo access, but Apple has not disclosed the faulty operation. Physical possession of a locked device is required, and the documented impact is limited to viewing stored photos.
