CVE-2022-22667

Kernel code execution via GPU use-after-free

Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in the GPU Drivers component of Apple iOS and iPadOS before 15.4 allows local users to execute code with kernel privileges. The component accesses GPU-driver memory after it has been freed, but Apple has not disclosed the affected routine or triggering input. Execution requires a user to run an application on an affected device; successful exploitation crosses the application boundary and runs attacker-controlled code in the kernel.
