Process-memory disclosure via SCPT parser over-read
Published Mar 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Apple macOS Catalina, Big Sur before 11.6.5, and Monterey before 12.3 allows remote attackers to disclose process memory. The AppleScript framework accepts attacker-controlled SCPT data and reads beyond the end of an allocated data structure because input bounds are not validated. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit a malicious page; the over-read exposes process memory or terminates the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
