Administrator-level code execution via unchecked filename inclusion
Published Aug 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Local file inclusion in XplodedThemes WPIDE before 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP via a crafted filename. The wpide_get_file action passes the filename POST parameter to a PHP require statement in the admin dashboard without sanitizing or validating its path. Administrator access and a valid nonce are required; inclusion can expose local data or execute PHP already present on the server.
