Account takeover via unrestricted password attempts
Published Jan 21, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper login throttling in Dell EMC AppSync 3.9 through 4.3 allows remote attackers to brute-force passwords through the UI or CLI. Dell has not disclosed the implementation locus or how the UI and CLI authentication paths fail to restrict repeated attempts. No authentication is required, but account takeover depends on guessing a weak password; the published record establishes no takeover when passwords resist guessing.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
