Information disclosure via exposed unused Jetty server
Published Mar 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in SAP Simple Diagnostics Agent 1.0 through 1.57 allows remote attackers to gather restricted data over a random high port. The agent starts an otherwise unused Jetty web server on a randomly selected TCP port from 9000 through 65535, exposing the service even though it handles no APIs, servlets, or network traffic. No authentication is required; the disclosed service information expands the attack surface for later attacks against underlying open-source components.
