CVE-2022-22521Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via writable uninstaller directory

Published Apr 27, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper privilege management in Miele Benchmark Programming Tool 1.2.71 and earlier allows local users to gain administrator privileges. The installer selects C:\MIELE_SERVICE by default and grants all users write access, allowing replacement of its uninstaller executable. A low-privileged local user must replace that file and have an administrator or Software Center run the uninstall, which executes the replacement with elevated privileges.
