CVE-2022-22515Network attack vector

Authenticated configuration access via IEC file libraries

Published Apr 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper resource exposure in CODESYS Control products allows remote authenticated users to read and modify configuration files. CAA File, SysFile, SysFileAsync, and similar IEC libraries fail to prevent control programs from accessing protected runtime configuration files. Exploitation requires downloading and executing IEC code after authentication, or while online user management is inactive.
