CVE-2022-22488Network attack vector

Authenticated HTTPS-service crash via CA certificate flooding

Published Nov 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 28, 2025

Resource exhaustion in IBM OpenBMC OP910 and OP940 allows remote authenticated users to crash the BMC HTTPS service. Rapidly uploading or deleting excessive CA certificates exhausts an unbounded certificate-management resource in the BMC web server. BMC administrator privileges are required, and the resulting service interruption persists until the HTTPS service or BMC is restarted.
