Administrative access via unlimited storage-agent login attempts
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper login-attempt restriction in IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.0.000 through 8.1.14 allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. The storage agent accepts unlimited failed login attempts without locking the targeted administrative ID. Network reachability to that service and a guessable administrative password are required; success grants control of the agent and connected server.
