Authentication throttling failure in IBM Storage Protect Server 8.1.0.000 through 8.1.14.000 allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. Failed logins submitted through Operations Center sometimes do not increment the server administrator's invalid sign-on counter. Network access to the Operations Center login is sufficient; repeated password guesses can compromise an administrator account without triggering the configured attempt limit.
