Authenticated access bypass via exposed session logs
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Authorization bypass in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Container Backup and Restore allows remote authenticated users to access its server. Container logs improperly expose an IBM Spectrum Protect Plus user session, and the disclosed session bypasses the server's login and role checks. The attacker must be able to retrieve those logs; resulting access is limited to the permissions assigned to the exposed user's session.
