Counter activation and deactivation via missing CSRF checks
Published Aug 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Wow-Company Counter Box before 1.2.1 allows remote attackers to activate or deactivate counters via crafted URLs. The counter-box administration page accepts state-changing activate and deactivate GET requests without verifying a CSRF nonce. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load an attacker-controlled request; the bounded effect is counter state modification.
