CVE-2022-22425

Command execution via unvalidated CSV formulas

Published Nov 3, 2022 · Updated May 5, 2025

CSV injection in IBM InfoSphere Information Server 11.7 allows remote attackers to execute commands through crafted CSV contents. IBM identifies improper validation of CSV contents but does not disclose the export path or validation routine that permits formula-leading cells. Execution requires a user to open the exported file in formula-capable spreadsheet software; successful formulas can run commands with that user's privileges.
