Cluster-resource manipulation via overprivileged service token
Published Aug 10, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Code injection in IBM Storage Scale Data Access Services 5.1.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate cluster resources. The DAS service-account token is configured with excessive OpenShift permissions, so injected code inherits authority to change cluster resources. A valid DAS account is required, and IBM has not published the injection endpoint or the specific cluster resources exposed.
