Credential disclosure via embedded Web UI JavaScript
Published Sep 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Cross-site scripting in IBM Aspera Faspex 5.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to disclose credentials via the Web UI. IBM states that the Web UI permits embedded arbitrary JavaScript, but has not identified the affected field, route, or missing neutralization step. Exploitation requires a low-privilege account and victim interaction; successful script execution can alter UI behavior and expose session credentials.
