Spreadsheet formula execution via unvalidated quote attachments
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSV injection in eMarket Design LLC Request a Quote 2.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to plant malicious CSV attachments. The quote attachment path stores uploaded CSV content without validating or neutralizing formula-leading cells before including it in an administrator-downloadable quote. Exploitation requires an administrator to download and open the attachment in software that evaluates CSV formulas, triggering attacker-supplied spreadsheet formulas in that administrator's context.
