Credential disclosure via clear-text virgo logging
Published Jun 6, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Information disclosure in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.0.0 through 10.1.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to read credentials from logs. The virgo logging path writes password-based remote vSnap, offload-target, or VADP credentials in clear text during certain operations, while API-key and certificate credentials are excluded. High-privileged access is required, and exposure is limited to credentials recorded by an affected operation.
