Admin stored cross-site scripting via unsanitized settings
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Request a Quote before 2.3.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a WordPress site via crafted plugin settings. The plugin fails to sanitize and escape selected settings before storing and rendering them, so a high-privilege administrator can persist attacker-controlled markup even when unfiltered_html is disallowed. Exploitation requires high privileges and a user to view the affected page; impact is limited to script-driven confidentiality and integrity effects in the site context.
