SSL server impersonation through Ajax proxy

Spoofing in IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to impersonate SSL server hostnames. IBM identifies AjaxProxy.war as the affected locus but has not disclosed the hostname-validation operation that accepts the spoofed SSL identity. Exploitation requires AjaxProxy.war to be deployed and an attacker positioned between the proxy and an SSL server, exposing proxied traffic to interception, alteration, or interruption.
