CVE-2022-22356Network attack vector

Account enumeration via distinguishable login responses

Published Apr 5, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Account enumeration in IBM MQ Appliance 9.2 CD and 9.2 LTS allows remote authenticated users to identify valid accounts through login attempts. The login path produces an observable difference between attempts using valid and invalid account credentials, exposing an account-validity oracle. Low-privileged network access is required, and the disclosed impact is limited to credential enumeration rather than credential recovery or modification.
