CVE-2022-22321

Credential disclosure via insufficient password hashing

Published Mar 1, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Insufficient password protection in IBM MQ Appliance 9.2 CD and 9.2 LTS allows local users to read messaging-user credential data. The appliance stores passwords for internally stored messaging users using a hash that provides inadequate protection; IBM does not identify the algorithm or storage locus. Exposure requires local access and use of the internal messaging-user store, and the reported consequence is limited to confidentiality.
