CVE-2022-22315Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via inherited custom resource types

Published Apr 27, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Privilege escalation in IBM UrbanCode Deploy, now IBM DevOps Deploy, allows remote authenticated users to gain unauthorized resource permissions. The server accepts creation of a child resource under the standard resource type and applies a custom resource type even when the account lacks create permission for that custom type. Exploitation requires create-resource permission on the standard type and can expose operations governed by the inherited custom type, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
