Adjacent-network interception via improper certificate validation

Improper certificate validation in Fortinet FortiOS allows remote attackers to intercept selected peer communications from an adjacent network. The affected peer-connection path fails to authenticate peer certificates correctly, but Fortinet has not disclosed the responsible function or protocol-specific operation. No authentication is required, but adjacent network control is necessary; successful interception exposes and permits alteration of traffic with private SDNs or external cloud platforms.
