CVE-2022-22291

Cell location disclosure via telephony logging

Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Excessive logging in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Feb-2022 Release 1 allows local users to read cell location data from device logs. The telephony component writes cell location information to device logs in commercial builds instead of suppressing the sensitive entry. Access requires local low-privilege log access; the documented consequence is location-data disclosure, not modification or service interruption.
