Wi-Fi information disclosure via unprotected service
Published Jan 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Samsung Mobile Devices P(9.0), Q(10.0), and R(11.0) allows local users to read Wi-Fi information. The exported WifiEvaluationService in the TencentWifiSecurity application lacks protection that prevents an untrusted application from retrieving Wi-Fi scan results. Exploitation requires an application on an affected China-market device and exposes Wi-Fi information without granting data modification or service interruption.
