AI service interruption via invalid model weights
Published May 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in HiAIserver in Huawei EMUI 12.0.0 and HarmonyOS 2.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt AI services. HiAIserver accepts a model weight without strictly validating its validity, allowing malformed weight data to trigger AI service exceptions. NVD assesses exploitation as unauthenticated and network-reachable, but Huawei has not disclosed the exposed interface or exception duration.
