CVE-2022-22239

Root escalation via root-executed ssh command

Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated May 10, 2025

Privilege escalation in Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved affected releases allows local users to gain root through the ssh command. The management daemon executes the ssh operational CLI command as root instead of preserving the low-privileged user's context. Low-privileged command access suffices for device root; reaching root on a remote system additionally depends on interaction there.
