CVE-2022-22238

Routing daemon crash via malformed RESV state

Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated May 10, 2025

Improper condition handling in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows adjacent attackers to crash the routing daemon. The rpd daemon accepts a malformed incoming RESV message for a protected LSP, enters an incorrect internal state, and generates a core. Exploitation requires adjacent, unauthenticated access to the RSVP signaling path and interrupts routing-protocol service without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
