Unauthorized routing sessions via TCP-AO authentication bypass
Published Oct 18, 2022 · Updated May 10, 2025
Improper authentication in the Junos OS kernel allows remote attackers to establish unauthorized BGP or LDP sessions over TCP-AO. The TCP-AO processing path accepts a peer that sends no authentication even when that peer is locally configured to require authentication. The attacker must reach a configured BGP or LDP peer; a successful session can admit untrusted routing or label-distribution traffic, affecting confidentiality or integrity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
