Local full device control via download command injection
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Command injection in the Junos OS download manager on SRX and EX Series devices allows local users to gain full device control. The download manager fails to neutralize special elements supplied through affected request and show system download commands. A low-privileged authenticated account permitted to run either command family is required; successful exploitation grants full device control.
