CVE-2022-22212Network attack vector

DoS via hostbound traffic resource exhaustion

Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Allocation of resources without limits in Junos OS Evolved 21.2 before 21.2R3-EVO and 21.3 before 21.3R2-EVO allows remote attackers to cause DoS. The Packet Forwarding Engine accepts a high rate of specific hostbound traffic from PFE ports without sufficient throttling, exhausting resources and delaying or dropping hostbound protocols. The unauthenticated network path can sustain service interruption while the traffic continues; the record does not report confidentiality or integrity impact.
