PFE crash via unchecked safe-search traffic copy
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Buffer overflow in the PFE of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series allows remote attackers to crash the PFE with crafted traffic. When UTM Enhanced Web Filtering safe-search scans specific traffic, the PFE copies input without checking its size and crashes. The flaw is reachable without authentication only when that feature scans the traffic; repeated delivery sustains the service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
