CVE-2022-22204Network attack vector

SIP service interruption via stale call entries

Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper memory release in the Junos OS SIP ALG on MX and SRX releases allows remote attackers to interrupt all SIP traffic. A specific SIP packet leaves a stale call-table entry because the ALG releases memory before removing its last reference, and sustained packets fill the table. SIP ALG must be enabled, implicitly or by configuration; the resulting denial of service is limited to SIP processing.
