RPD crash via released route-target resource use
Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
A resource lifecycle error in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash RPD through BGP events. With proxy-generate route-target filtering enabled, RPD processes certain proxy-route add and delete events after the underlying resource has expired or been released. The attack requires an established BGP session and the affected configuration; the reported consequence is an RPD crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
