rpd crash via unexpected CLI data type
Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Improper data-type handling in rpd in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows local users to crash the process. With BGP RIB sharding configured, an undisclosed CLI command causes rpd to process an unexpected data type and terminate; Juniper has not disclosed the command or code locus. Low-privileged authenticated CLI access is required, and repeated execution can sustain routing outages and disrupt traffic while rpd restarts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
