BGP service interruption via malformed transitive attribute
Published Dec 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Improper input validation in Junos OS 22.3R1 and Junos OS Evolved 22.3R1-EVO allows remote attackers to disrupt BGP sessions. The routing protocol daemon tears down an established BGP session with an update-message error when it parses a specific optional transitive attribute. An attacker must deliver the attribute over BGP, directly or through intermediate autonomous systems; repeated updates sustain the routing-service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
