CVE-2022-22183Network attack vector

Sustained denial of service via reachable IPv4 port

Published Apr 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper access control in affected Junos OS Evolved 20.4 through 21.4 releases allows remote attackers to exhaust device CPU via IPv4 traffic. A specific IPv4 port that should be unreachable accepts and continuously processes packets, consuming all CPU resources as traffic increases. The port must be network-reachable, and continued packet delivery sustains the service interruption; ordinary Junos OS is unaffected.
