Sustained traffic loss via packet DMA leak
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Denial of service in Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 and EX4600 switches allows remote attackers to interrupt packet processing. Inbound IPv6 packet handling fails to free packet DMA memory for specific packets, so continuous traffic exhausts the Packet DMA pool. The attack requires network reachability and sustained specific IPv6 traffic; exhaustion prevents further packet processing and causes sustained traffic loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
