rpd crash via malformed BGP SR-TE attribute
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Denial of service in Juniper Networks Junos OS 20.4 and 21.1 allows remote attackers to crash rpd via a malformed BGP update. When update tracing is enabled, rpd fails to validate the quantity encoded in a BGP SR-TE policy tunnel attribute before processing it and cores. An established BGP session and the nondefault update-tracing configuration are required, and the resulting impact is limited to interruption of routing service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
