Low-privileged escalation via CLI error message
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Information exposure in Junos OS CLI allows locally authenticated low-privilege users to elevate to the highest-privilege J-Web user via crafted errors. The CLI generates error messages that expose sensitive information used to assume the privileges of another user currently logged in through J-Web. Exploitation requires local authenticated access, a configured J-Web service, and user interaction; Juniper reports potential full device compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
