Physical takeover and reboot via foreign aggregation device

External control of critical state data in Juniper Networks Junos OS allows physically proximate attackers to reboot a satellite device. The Junos Fusion satellite-device control state machine accepts an aggregation device outside the original Fusion setup when cabling is moved to an extended port. Physical access to the link between the satellite and its original aggregation device is required, after which the foreign device gains control and interrupts service.
