Resource exhaustion in Junos OS flowd on affected SRX and MX SPC3 systems allows remote attackers to delay transit processing and drop packets. The daemon performs inefficient fragment-reassembly processing without adequate resource limits when fragmented transit packets consume its workload. Unauthenticated network reachability is sufficient, but observable disruption requires fragments to exceed roughly five percent of transit traffic.
