Reflected script execution via unescaped checkbox values
Published Feb 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in checkbox handling in Econosys System php_mailform before 1.40 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in users' browsers. The confirmation template loops over submitted checkbox values and renders each value into HTML without applying the Smarty escape modifier. Exploitation requires no authentication but requires a user to open a crafted request, allowing script execution in that user's browser context.
