Remote code execution via internal file-transfer traversal
Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 13, 2025
Path traversal in Tableau Server 2020.4 through 2022.1.4 allows remote attackers to execute code through the Administration Agent. Tableau has not disclosed how the Agent's internal file transfer service fails to validate or confine attacker-controlled paths. Network reachability of that internal service is required, and successful exploitation compromises the Tableau Server host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
